Demos next week

Hey guys,

At next Monday night's boardgame meeting myself and Niall (Almach) will be giving demos for Warhammer Fantasy and Necromunda, so if anyone is looking to get into wargaming and just needs a start and to learn, all you need to do is show up. It appears there is a good potential list of candidates within the society, so let's see what we can get going. Hope to see you there.

I've read a good bit about Necromunda but haven't played. How many players can you get in monday do you think?

Well a game of Necromunda doesn't usually last very long, probably 90 mins at the most. Should be able to fit in at least two games if there is enough interest. I probably wouldn't hold any multiplayer games yet, as they can be exceptionally messy and unfair on new players

Any chance you could give an overview of the different gangs Almach???

For the Fantasy demos I will have four Border Patrol (500pt) armies with me, Chaos, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and Beastmen, so there'll be enough for a few people to try out and have plenty of variation.

Sure thing.
Necromunda differs from Games Workshops other tabletop battle games in that the majority of the gangs are human, or at least humanoid. So initially, most gangs will have similar stat-lines. Over the course of a campaign, gang members will gain experience and level up, similar to an rpg.

For the demo game, players will be using two 'House' gangs. These are the standard necromunda gangs, with the same stats, but slight differences in equipment.

Turns out Conclave moved back a week so it and Brocon are on different weekends, so if we get enough people playing from the Soc we can run something at Brocon.

have two starter gangs ready for this evenings demo game. Unfortunately I wasn't able to bring down any scenery, as there just wasn't room for it in the car. Will break out the scissors and selotape after dinner and have some pieces ready for later

Cool, well I'll have some scenary and 4 Border Patrol armies for anywanting to start WHFB. Should be a good craic hopefully.

Good craic! That's greatly increased the number of GWs tabletop games I've actually tried.
