Constitution of the University of Limerick Softball Club
Designation:
The name of the club will be the University of Limerick Softball club, hereafter referred to
as the club.
Functions:
The functions of the club are to promote the game of softball in the University of Limerick,
in the greater Limerick Area.
Status:
The club is to be affiliated to Irish Softball and Baseball Association.
Structure:
The board shall be comprised of the following members, (hereafter referred to as the
committee), who shall be elected each year at the annual general meeting.
1. President
2. Secretary
3. Treasurer
4. P.R.O.
5. Games Administrator
Duties of the officers:
President - The President will represent the club in the public domain and all correspondence
on the club business must be done through the approval of the president and a quorum of the
committee.
Secretary - The secretary will conduct all correspondence for and on behalf of the committee,
they will also take the minutes from all the meetings.
Treasurer - the treasurer will maintain a record of all monies received and expended by the
club, lodge all monies received on behalf of the club. They will also provide reports to the
committee at regular meeting. They will provide a detailed report of the club finical status
at the AGM.
Public Relations Officer - The PRO will be responsible for the publicity relating to the club
through the media, posters, and leaflets on activities of the club. They will be responsible
for contacting the members of the media at appropriated times deemed by the committee. They
will be responsible for ordering and receiving all club gear.
Games Administrator - The Games Admiistrator shall be responsible for all games involving the
club, they shall also be responsible for the booking of pitch's and for the general running of
any tournament hosted by the club.
Meetings:
They shall be deemed by the committee when necessary, but will at least one every four weeks.
The quorum shall be one half of the membership plus one inclusive of the committee.
Each committee member and affiliated delegate who has his or her membership paid will be
entitled to one vote.
Finance:
All cheques must be signed by at least two of the signatories.
All matters of finance shall be left to the committee.
The committee for the time being shall for all intents and purposes be the legal owners of all
trophies, monies and property of the club.
General:
Any member found to be placing the club in disrepute or disregarding the constitution will be
ordered to appear before the EGM, if the accusations are proven the meeting has the right to
revoke the membership of the guilty party.
In case of any matter, which may arise and is not covered by the existing constitution, the
committee shall have the power to decide on the matter and deal with it as they see fit.
