Stanley Bay, Hong Kong

Hi Everyone

This is the first update from the road. Stanley Bay, Hong Kong Island (Elev 108m, N22, 13'04.2" : E 114, 12'34.6") Friday Evening, about 8pm!

Well the first few days certainly have been eventful, We nearly didn't make it here, all due to Iarnroid Eireann... Bunch of useless c**ts! The poxy train broke down on the way up from Limerick and I missed the 7pm flight from Dublin to Heathrow. Fortunately we made the 8:15 flight and we were just in time for the connection at Heathrow, but our bags weren't as lucky :(. They arrived at our hotel 24 hours later.

So for the first day we were muckin around in the same clothes, so that was a real pain in the ass, However we did manage to get a free bottle of champange on the B.A flight.

Just as the flight was taking off, the captain came on teh P.A system and did the usual announcements, an signed off as Captain Mike McNamara.. Ding Dong, Hello! I know that name!! A couple of years before I was on a work assignment in Hk for Network365 with a guy called Stephen McNamara. (Hello Stephen!) While we were in HK, Stephen arranged to meet up with his brother, Mike, who was a pilot with B.A. We all went out for pints a few times and during the flight over he came down and we had a chat, about 2 mins a bottle of champange was produced! Happy Days!!

So today was our first full day of touring around, we went to Ocean Park and the Giant Panda reserve, was class, loads of rollercoasters and a vertical drop tower, cable cars accross the mountains and a Dolphin show! This evening we headed dow here to Stanley Bay, real nice place..

Anyways! That's my update for this evening! Dee may do a post tomorrow or the day after!

Slan!
