Bronze medal winners at the ITF World Championships

Debra Donovan and Brenda Cremin recently travelled to Korea to compete in the ITF World Championships. Debra fought through the preliminary rounds before losing narrowly in the semi finals. She was disappointed to go out at that stage but a bronze medal at this level is still a great achievement. Brenda never got going in her section and unfortunately went out in the first round. This was a disappointing result as she fought nowhere near her potential, however her performance in the team event made up for this somewhat.

Both fought on the Irish ladies team that came up against Argentina in the quarterfinal. Both won their fights comfortably, Brenda showing what was really capable of, dismantling the Argentinean who had won the Heavyweight gold medal on the previous day. In the semi final they faced Japan and lost 3-2 in a close encounter.
