University of Limerick Mountain Bike Club places to go Oatfield is a good cycle for those of you like a challenge.

After going straight ahead at the crossroads by the sixmilebridge / ardnacrusha road and truagh church your faced with a nice fireroad type climb.This brings you to a fork in the fireroad. If you do a U-turn (going up the road shown below)it will lead you towards the oatfield decent.

This is the view looking back down towards the fork described above. After about another 50 meters taking another U-turn leads you down another downhill section with stone chips. this can be taken at full speed on a full suspention & some guts.

At this point there are 2 possible routes to the sixmilebridge - broadford road takeing the right fork brings you down the track below

This is where things get interesting. At this point your rims are covered in mud as a result its takes a little bit longer to slow down. As pete and john can testify to sometimes you can leave you brakeing a little too late here with the result of some broken bones.Pete came off just about where the track disappers out of site. Doon lake can also be seen in the photo with north Clare in the background
